Coffee Brewing Guide
Coffee: Start with top-quality, freshly roasted coffee from the Silca Coffee Roasting Company.
Water: Better water translates to better coffee. Use only freshly drawn or filtered cold water.
Proportion: Use the right amount of coffee. Start with 1 heaping tablespoon of coffee per 6 ounce cup and adjust to suit your taste.
Grind: Use the appropriate grind for your coffee maker. The wrong grind could lead to under or over extraction and impacts the strength of the coffee.
Temperature: Heat fresh, cold water to 195F.
Equipment: Cleanliness counts! Remember to clean the coffee equipment periodically. Keep brewing equipment spotlessly clean.
Serving: Serve coffee immediately after brewing. Coffee loses its flavor and aroma quickly. Never hold brewed coffee on a burner for more than 20 minutes nor reheat coffee. Microwaving coffee changes its chemistry and destroys flavor.
